Born in Montreal in 1941. Lawrence Rogers grew up in Montreal and attended McGill University, where he met his wife, Joy Haley. They had two children, Carlin and Elaine. Lawrence earned his PhD from the University of Waterloo. He is semi-retired and currently serves as a technology adviser to companies in the computer industry.
